One of our previous clients just returned from a 2-week getaway in Europe, which included the Euro Delivery on his brand new F82 BMW M4. This BMW M4 is a brand new release for the F8X platform and features BMW’s Twin-Turbo Inline 6 3-liter power plant. Delivering a hearty 430-hp, this M4 in Alpine White came with a proper 6-speed manual transmission.
We wanted to ensure that the Alpine White retains its glow for the years to come. The front end was fully protected using Suntek’s PFC clear bra to protect the paint against more direct impact. We coated the remainder of the paint with Camui’s Ceramic Hard Coat, which will reduce swirls, scuffs and daily environmental deposits. Essentially, it’s like adding another clear coat on top. Finally, we also protected the interior with Ceramic Tint (70% Windshield, 35% Sides/Rear).
However, before all that, we had to fully detail the paint as we are creating a permanent top layer using Camui’s Ceramic Coating. While the car had less than 1,000 miles on it, there were already swirls marks, a ton of mineral deposits embedded in the paint, and some deeper scratches. It’s no surprise as the car had to endure a thunder storm and also a few laps on the Nürburgring.
How we first received the car.
First things first, a full rinse down.
All panels are prepped accordingly. Even the Carbon Fiber roof had contaminants in the clear that we had to remove via the synthetic clay. Front and rear license plates were removed so we full detail all the nooks and crannies.
While not everyone will appreciate the small details, we wanted to ensure a perfect base layer of paint prior to sealing everything in. Even if it requires removing the grills to get a good cleaning. The front kidney grills and side gills were also blacked out with IND’s blackout trim.
After a light paint correction and detail, the car is ready for the Suntek PPF C Paint Protection to be applied. We installed a full front clear bra which includes the full hood, full fenders, full bumper and side-view mirrors. Black side gills and front kidney grills were also a subtle touch, which added nicely to the contrast.
Finally, we were able to apply the Camui Ceramic Coating to the remainder of the car. Even the Carbon Roof on the M4 received a ceramic coatings, as the roof panel receives a lot of UV exposure and tends to fade easily.
